The Mysterious Case of the Missing Necklace

Once upon a time in a small town, there was a clever detective named Sam. He loved solving mysteries and helping people. One sunny morning, Sam received a call from Mrs. Brown, a rich lady who lived in a big house. She was very upset because her precious necklace had gone missing.

Mrs. Brown explained, “I had the necklace on my table last night, but now it is gone! I think someone took it!” Sam listened carefully and decided to help her. He arrived at her house and started to investigate.

First, he looked around the room where the necklace was last seen. He noticed that the window was slightly open. “Hmm,” he thought, “this could be a clue.” He walked over to the window and pushed it open a little more to see outside. “Maybe someone came in through here,” he said to himself.

Next, Sam asked Mrs. Brown who had been in the house recently. She mentioned her maid, Lucy, and her friend, Mr. Green. “Did they come in last night?” Sam asked. Mrs. Brown nodded. “Yes, they were both here for dinner.”

Sam decided to talk to Lucy first. He found her in the kitchen, cleaning dishes. “Lucy,” he said, “I need to ask you some questions.” Lucy looked nervous but agreed to answer. Sam asked her if she had seen the necklace. Lucy shook her head and said, “No, I didn’t see anything unusual.”

Next, Sam went to find Mr. Green. He was in the living room, reading a book. “Mr. Green,” Sam said, “do you know anything about the missing necklace?” Mr. Green looked surprised. “No, I don’t! I would never take anything from Mrs. Brown!” he replied.

Sam thought carefully about what he had learned. He knew that the necklace was valuable, and someone might try to take it. He decided to look around the house once more. As he moved through the rooms, he noticed a small box under the sofa. It was pushed back and hidden from view. Sam carefully pulled it out and opened it. To his surprise, inside was Mrs. Brown’s missing necklace!

Sam called Mrs. Brown and showed her the necklace. “It was here all along!” he exclaimed. Mrs. Brown was so happy. “Thank you, Sam! But how did it get here?”

Sam smiled and said, “I think you accidentally pushed it under the sofa when you were cleaning. Sometimes, things can get lost in the most unexpected places.”

Mrs. Brown thanked Sam for his help, and he left the house feeling proud. Another mystery solved!
